Clinical Example: Neurofibroma of fingertip pulp space
|
Neurofibromas of the hand are usually associated with
neurofibromatosis. Less commonly, solitary neurofibromas
represent spontaneous nerve sheath myxomas, also called Pacinian
neurofibroma.

| Plain Radiographs demonstrate soft tissue swelling only. |
| Anticipating the need for skin resection, a primary zigzag incision was used. |
| Unlike congenital
neurofibromatosis, there was a clear plane between dermis and tumor.
The digital nerves were stretched and flattened onto the surface of the
tumor. |
